North Powder, Oregon, Huckleberry Festival
Malcolm and I attended the North Powder Huckleberry Festival on Saturday, July 25.
The day started out with a Community Breakfast (huckleberry pancakes, I presumed) while we were setting up our booth in the downtown area. Along with the breakfast and vendor booths, this is a list of other activities that went on during the day:
Huckleberry Festival Parade
Live Music and Puppet Show
Highland Games Demonstration
Huckleberry Dessert Contest
( See Photo Gallery for close up pictures of the desserts! Yumm, yumm!!)
Lawn Mower “Show and Shine”
Firemans’s London Broil BBQ
Outdoor Huckleberry Hound Cartoons
Of course, our favorite was the Huckleberry Dessert Contest!! Some of those desserts were the most delectable dishes I have ever seen. Malcolm tried real hard to volunteer as a judge, but unfortunately, they had already begun the judging before he asked!!
About ten producers/artisans booths were set up around the area with everything from huckleberry goodies, to jewelry, to handmade flutes to wooden creations to handmade stitched items to personal care products to …..
All in all, we had a good time, made lots of new friends, and sold some huckleberry products! Hopefully, we can attend again next year.
