Where to Buy Huckleberry Plants

The following nursery list was given to the Huckleberry Association in 2009 when Dr. Barney’s research facility was closed.  We can not guarentee that Dr. Barney’s plants are still sold at these locations!

RainTree carries several western huckleberries, but not the Idaho/Montana variety, but good berries, none the less.

Plants of the Wild, in eastern Washington, carries only one huckleberry plant: the Mountain Huckleberry, or vaccineum membranaceum

Fall Creek Nursery Varieties carries several huckleberry plants, but only one northwest variety.

Hartman’s Plant Company sells bilberry seedlings

Just wondering where the best place to purchase huckleberries would be, we live about 24 miles from Moscow, Idaho.

    Hi Kris,

Off hand, I can’t think of anyone in Moscow that sells huckleberries. Have you tried the farmer’s market? I know that there are a couple fruit stand on Government Way in Coeur d Alene where I have seen them. You might want to try asking your question on our facebook page: http://facebook.com/wildhuckleberries/

    Good luck,
    Sandy
